"For just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function,
so in Christ we, though many, form one body,
and each member belongs to all the others."
Romans 12:4-5

Rector: RevRev Val. Valerie Thorne.

I was inducted as the Rector of The Ermin West Benefice on the 23 September 2012. Before training for the Ministry at Wycliffe College in Oxford (2007-2009) I worshipped at Withington and Northleach. My curacies in the Tyndale Benefice (Wotton under Edge) and the Sodbury Vale Benefice (Chipping Sodbury) confirmed my belief in the value of the rural church. I am therefore delighted to be in my present post.

Visiting Priest: Canon Karen Schmidt.

Before my ordination in 1999 I was a prosecuting solicitor and continued working for the Crown Prosecution Service whilst serving as a non-stipendiary Curate in Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire.  I then moved to stipendiary ministry as Priest-in-Charge of Purbrook before becoming Chaplain to the Bishop of Portsmouth and Acting Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight.  My final post before retirement was as House for Duty Priest in a five church rural benefice on the Isle of Wight.  I now live in Swindon close to my family but have Permission to Officiate in Gloucester diocese and enjoy serving in Cirencester parish and also in the Ermin West Benefice combining my town and country ministry experience.
